Why We Love It
Ranked by foursquare as number four for scenic views in Philadelphia, the Promenade at Race Street Pier is situated beneath a public terraced property over meticulously landscaped grounds. It’s bustling in summer and beautiful in winter, a nautical paradise for people from all corners of the earth. Thanks to the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, Race Street Pier is exemplary of our city’s vision for a 21st century waterfront property.
What’s The Atmosphere?
Nautical, trendy, social and progressive, a seat at Race Street Pier figuratively overlooks the possibility of a brighter future for the thriving city of Philadelphia.
What’s The View?

Race Street Pier features one of the most enviable views of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge today. Boats of all sizes and variations skimming across the shimmering waters of the Delaware River. Children at play, joggers at work, workers at lunch, not to mention a wide variety of outdoor movie showings and free musical renditions that take place during the summer months. Race Street Pier is one of those rare gems in the city that takes on a new face with each change of season. Social by summer, secluded by winter, and arguably most beautiful in autumn, this nautical wonder sits majestically along the riverfront as a promise of things to come.
Where To Cop A Thinking Spot
By day, the upper level ramp leading into the Promenade is optimal for viewing different corners of the city. By night, you’ll want to situate yourself as close to the Benjamin Franklin Bridge as possible.
About The Poem At The Top Of This Page
CIt’s a brave new day in Philly and with that comes the voice of its next generation. Who better to move Philly forward than Yolanda Wisher, third poet Laureate and author of “Monk Eats An Afro“. Like the Pier itself, her vision is authentic and optimistic, a beautiful new twist on an ancient blueprint.
